Vibrating Feeders

Carrier vibrating feeders provide the most efficient and economical method of conveying bulk materials, with the easiest means of controlling feed rate.

Carrier feeders provide efficient and economic feeding of bulk materials with the easiest means of metering the materials at a controlled feed rate. Our wide range of robust vibratory feeders are customized to meter a predetermined amount of bulk solids from one point to another in a process line. Several drive systems are available including tuned, two-mass, natural frequency and brute force direct drive systems.

Pioneered by Carrier Vibrating Equipment, natural frequency drive design utilizes the principles of natural frequency to amplify a drive force to reduce power requirements. Our natural frequency feeders are energy efficient and are designed to handle high capacities, while maintaining stroke under extreme headloads. Carrier’s two-mass, sub-resonant vibrating feeder drive systems utilize heavy-duty coil springs, delivering a linear angle of attack along the full length of the feeder pan. Our simple brute force direct drive vibrates the feeder trough with eccentric weighted motors and are often controlled by adjusting the speed with a variable feed design.

Carrier’s wide range of robust feeders can be customized to suit specific process requirements. Design options include scalping or screening decks, removable dust-tight covers, overhead drive and isolation arrangements, abrasion resistant liners, explosion-proof designs, and more. Grizzly feeders featuring self-relieved bars made of reinforced or hardened steel that prevent product from wedging, are available for scalping mined minerals and aggregates.

VIBRATING FEEDERS ARE IDEAL FOR APPLICATIONS SUCH AS:

  • Reclaim hoppers and bins
  • Storage silo operations
  • Truck dumping
  • Product sizing
  • Crushing systems
  • Furnace charge feeders for foundry operations
